With the Holidays here, it’s a busy, busy time of year!

I did manage to make progress on some clutter clearing in the PAPER and HOME REPAIR categories this past week.

Festive Colors!

PAPER: I’ve been procrastinating for 1.5 years on a government form I’ve needed to fill out and turn in.  I finally said “today’s the day I do it”.  And again, I found myself attempting to procrastinate as I read the form and felt I need the help of a lawyer to understand it. Then I decided to be brave and look up the terms on the Internet.  Turned out the form was much easier to understand than I’d been making it out to be.   That morning I completed it and mailed it in with the hefty fee (another procrastination I didn’t want to deal with!).

Nice but lacks privacy...

The rest of the week I felt so light, so accomplished, just from that one “to-do” done after a year and a half!

HOME REPAIR:  My other accomplishment was sewing up the serape fabric I purchased (previous blog) into curtains for the courtyard.  Once on a roll, I sewed up the left over fabric as “table runners” for my dining room and end tables!  I admit, I doubt I would have jumped into this project, except that I purposely mentioned in my blog to push myself to get it done.  Fortunately that did get me moving on it.  And I love how those bright colors in the courtyard perk me up.
Oh, and the dishwasher and furnace broke down!  Called in the furnace guy and plumber to fix them.  Tis the season for unexpected spending!!

Remember, the idea with clutter clearing is to bring back and surround our selves with that extra “sparkle” to raise our chi!

I picked up this colorful serape blanket at El Paso Saddle Blanket after leaving Saturday’s CC101 class. I will turn the blanket into curtains to cover the long narrow window openings in our courtyard.  This will come under MAINTENANCE & REPAIR.  Our dog, Diego, tore down the last curtains… ♥. I miss the privacy and festive colors those curtains offered us. So I thought this would be a great start to clutter clearing. The festive colors give me that extra oomph, that sense of pizzazz and sparkle that is our goal in clutter clearing!

So, I’m getting this website & blog up and running, then will pull out my sewing machine and stitch away. (Organizing an area for sewing will come later!) Watch for my upcoming “before and aft” photos of the courtyard windows!   To be continued. . .
